PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Democrats in the South Dakota legislature say they introduced several progressive bills during the session, but were unable to get any passed.
Senate Minority Leader Billie Sutton of Burke says they wanted to talk about a number of issues on their “Opportunity Agenda.”
Sutton says they wanted to move something to help lower income kids go to college.
Sutton says they also introduced bills on taxes and early education.
Sutton says their bills were almost all blocked by party line votes.
Sutton is one of six democrats in the 35-member state Senate.
