ABERDEEN, SD (PCSaints.com) – Joely Roe’s (JR/Filer, ID) impressive weekend was not only noticed at the conference level but also nationally as the junior was named the NAIA National Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week for her impressive effort at the College of Saint Mary’s Flames Invite. The award is the first in PC volleyball program history. Roe is also a three-time NSAA Player-of-the-Week. Over the weekend, Roe recorded 142 digs (8.9 per set). She broke PC’s school record (set back in 2004) for most digs in a match with 57 in a 3-2 victory over Dakota Wesleyan (SD). Roe also had six service aces for the week and had a perfect reception rate in 54 receptions. With her impressive 57-dig night, Roe is ranked 1st in the NAIA in digs/set with 7.1 and 3rd with 325 total digs. She also holds the 2017 NAIA Individual Game-High (57 digs) for the 2017 season.
