YANKTON, SD (PCSaints.com) – The Presentation College volleyball team notched their 13th win of the season after a five-set win over the Lancers on Friday night. With the win, the Saints improve to 13-5 overall and 3-2 in the NSAA.
The Saints looked to seek revenge in Friday night’s game as the Lancers stole a 3-1 win earlier this season in Aberdeen, S.D. On Friday night, they got their revenge.
The Saints were in the same spot they were just a month ago, trailing the Lancers two sets to one. Going into the fourth set, both teams would battle back and forth to push the set into extra points. However, Olivia Set would come up big with a kill off a pass from Abigail Wahl (SR/Rapid City. SD) to win 27-25 and push a fifth and final set.
The Saints would go on a 9-5 run to open the set and would not look back as they defeated the Lancers 15-10 to take the 3-2 win. In the final set, the Saints hit .786 with 11 kills and no errors.
Kayla Wolfe (FR/Redding, CA) led the Saints offensively with 18 kills on the night. Close behind was teammate LaMour Binger (SR/Hitchcock, SD), who recorded a career-high 17 kills on the night. The duo of Abigail Wahl and Maddie Goetz (JR/Aberdeen, SD) combined for 53 of the team’s 60 assists and three of the four service aces on the night. Wahl and Goetz also notched 14 digs apiece while Joely Roe (JR/Filer, ID) led the team with 15.
The Saints continue their season on the road as they travel to Jamestown for a mid-week conference game on Wednesday. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. with varsity to follow at 7.
