Updated AVCA & AFCA Polls – NSU VB Falls Slightly

AVCA.org & AFCA.com – The updated AFCA & AVCA Polls are out and the NSU VB squad slipped two spots in the poll this week to the #9 spot after splitting a pair of home matches.  CSP is still tops in the nation w/ 40 1st place picks.  California Baptist received seven picks and sits 2nd, and Lewis is 3rd w/ one vote.  SMSU stayed 4th this week, UMD is still 6th, Winona State’s win over NSU bumped them up just one spot to #14, Augustana climbed two positions to the 16-spot, Wayne St. Coll. nudged up one to #21, and Upper IA fell out of the rankings into the “receiving votes” category.

In the football poll, MSU-Mankato kept ahold of their top ranking after a late win over USF, 27-23.  The Mavs got 22 votes, while 2nd-ranked Shepherd (WV) got seven votes, 3rd-ranked Indiana (PA) received two picks, and Fort Hayes State (KS) picked up three votes in 4th.  Winona State is ranked 12th, moving up five spots this week; USF is 18th, dropping five spots; and UMD got back into the top 25 at the 23-spot.
