LEXINGTON, KY (PCSaints.com) – The AVCA announced its women’s volleyball All-America teams for the NAIA, as selected by the Volleyball All-America Selection Committee. Joely Roe (JR/Filer, ID) landed on the Honorable Mention Team and was the first Saint to earn an All-American honor in program history.
Joely Roe was second in the NAIA in digs per game (6.54) and total digs (850). She finished her junior campaign with 850 digs, 22 service aces, and 87 assists. Roe recorded a career-high 60 digs versus Dakota Wesleyan University, which broke a PC program record set by Jennifer Bourdon with 49 digs set back in 2004. Roe also broke the individual season total digs (850) record that was previously set by Alyssa Jung with 671 in the 2014 season.
The award adds to Roe’s impressive junior year as she previously was awarded AVCA North Central Region’s Libero-of-the-Year, AVCA 1st Team All-Region, NSAA 1st Team All-Conference and NSAA Libero-of-the-Year. She is also a two-time NAIA Player-of-the-Week and six-time NSAA Player-of-the-Week.
