Presentation College MBB Squad Splits Pair at Strode

PC played w/out Julius Jackson and grabbed a win despite a 33% shooting performance.  Waldorf shot 36% from the floor, but hit only 4/21-3 (19%).  PC held a huge advantage at the FT line (21/23, 91% to 5/13, 39%)

The Presentation College men’s basketball team fell 93-69 against the visiting V-Hawks of Viterbo University on Saturday night. With the loss, the Saints drop to 8-10 overall and 2-5 in conference action.

At the end of the first half, the Saints found themselves down by 13 by a score of 35-48. However, the Saints were unable to stop the hot shooting of Viterbo, who shot for 60.0 percent (33-55) in the game, and ultimately fell by a final score of 69-93. The V-Hawks converted 26 points off 17 Saints turnovers in the 40 minutes of regulation.

Four Saints scored in double figures with Deiontay Walters (JR/Cincinnati, OH) leading the way with 15 points and a team-high five assists. Close behind was Jalen Johnson(SO/Indianapolis, IN) with 13, while Marcus Gatlin (SR/Chicago, IL) and Quadre Lollis(JR/Indianapolis, IN) recorded 12 each. Lollis also added 11 rebounds on the night for his eighth double-double of the year. Adam White (FR/Ellendale, ND) and Mychal Deas(JR/Inglewood, CA) added seven points apiece while Riyadh Asad (SR/West Springfield, MA) rounded out the scoring with three points in the loss.

As a team, the Saints shot 41.7 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 73.3 percent from the foul line.
