ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Brown County has now joined other counties in the state with 211 service.
The county began providing the service on Sunday, Feb. 11 (211).
Aaron Schultz, Executive Director of the United Way of Northeastern South Dakota, explained some of the benefits of the 211 service.
He said that the United Way has helped to pick up some of the cost involved in the 211 program.
Schultz said that individuals will be able to talk to a live person 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Jeff Evenson, United Way Board Member, said that calls will be tabulated to see how many people are taking advantage of the service.
Schultz said there are many benefits to the 211 service, including less calls going directly to dispatch.
