YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – A change in leadership at the South Dakota Board of Regents has the attention of state lawmakers.
Regents CEO Mike Rush said he is resigning, effective May 29.
Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says there have been questions about the direction of higher education in the state.
Hunhoff says changes to the USD Law School were driven by legislators.
Hunhoff says legislators need to be more closely aligned with the Regents and higher education over all.
A search committee will start looking for a new CEO, with the hopes of finding someone by fall.
