BROOKINGS, S.D. (WNAX) – Lyle Olson, who has been the interim head for the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at South Dakota State University, has been named the founding director of the School of Communications and Journalism.
Olson says it is a new position for all of them.
The name change takes effect July 1. Olson says it is a natural extension.
Olson says it is important that Journalism remain part of the departments name.
