Districts allowed to phase in new graduation requirements

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The Yankton High School hand book will be a work in progress until the state Board of Education makes a final decision on changes to graduation requirements.

Yankton High School Principal Jennifer Johnke says districts can phase in the new requirements.

The changes would allow students to choose between three pathways; Advanced Endorsement, Advanced Career Endorsement, and Advanced Honors Endorsement.

Johnke says those would be required in a few years.

Johnke says students will be able to find the track that fits their interests.

Most of the high school handbook will be available on line until the state board makes a final decision.
