PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Democratic Party officials will meet next month to re-certify their candidates for statewide offices.
Secretary of State Shantel Krebs sent a letter to the party, saying they did not submit their list to her office in line with state law.
Democratic Party Executive Director Sam Parkinson says they will follow Krebs’ directions.
Parkinson says they are not planning to call all of the delegates back to the meeting.
Parkinson says their paperwork was apparently delayed in the mail.
Parkinson says they don’t see the re-do as an embarrassment but will use the meeting as a rally and campaign fundraiser.
