WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – As the ballot boxes are being put away this week, attention is already turning to the next election.
South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds was elected in 2014, and is up for re-election in 2020.
Rounds says it is not time to worry about that campaign.
Rounds says he expects a tough challenge.
Rounds defeated democrat Rick Weiland in 2014 by a 50 to 29 percent margin. Former Senator Larry Pressler ran as an independent and got 17 percent of the vote.
