Representative not pleased after early learning advisory bill defeated

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – A bill to establish an early learning advisory council in South Dakota was defeated in the House State Affairs Committee last week.

One of the prime sponsors, assistant House Minority Leader, Representative Erin Healy of Sioux Falls says there was a lot of misinformation presented during the hearing.

Healy says she isn’t sure the testimony had any impact on most of the committee members.

Healy says she isn’t sure she will bring the bill back next year.

The bill was sent to the 41st day on a vote of 9-2.
