The CC Lee Open Tennis Tournament is scheduled for July 14-15 in Aberdeen. The deadline to register for the tournament is Thursday, July 3. There are divisions for Boys and Girls 18 and under, 16 and under, 14 and under and 12 and under in both singles and doubles competition. The tournament fee is $12 for singles and $18 for a doubles team. This is a USTA sanctioned tournament and USTA Membership is required. The Brown County Extension Office in Aberdeen is the site
for the Horticulture Judge's School on Wednesday, July 16th. Jerry Mills, Extension Educator ~ Horticulture, will be
training adults on how to properly judge horticulture
exhibits. The workshop will begin at 10:00AM with a
PowerPoint Presentation. Participants will receive hands-on
instruction on how to prepare vegetables for exhibits and
how to officially place the specimens.
The fee for this workshop is $7, which includes the cost of
materials, snacks and lunch. Class size is limited to 12

ArtWorks Gallery to Host Free Presentations
The ArtWorks Gallery will celebrate the opening day of Crazy Daze with
several free events!
On Friday, July 18 at 10:00AM, Cheryl Olson will give a presentation on
fiber arts techniques in the Gallery.
At 1:00PM. that day, Paula Guhin will discuss altered book and
scrapbooking techniques.
The public is invited to take a (brief) rest from shopping to attend these
free, informative sessions in the Gallery.
At 3:00PM on Friday, free face painting for children will be offered by
ArtWorks staff.
In addition, for the duration of Crazy Daze, raffle tickets for a gorgeous
painted floor cloth will be on sale for $1 each. The hand-painted piece,
created by well-known local artists Nicole and Nick Fischer, will be
displayed in the ArtWorks Gallery.
Aberdeen ABATE Presents the "Pierpont Wheel In" July 18-19, 2008. Also a Poker Run on July 19, 2008 at 10AM. Dance held at Pierpont Lake with a $30 cover charge at gate includes both nights.
